VP Clinical Programming
In Home Behavioral Health Treatment For Families Who Need It Most
About Flourish
1 in 25 adolescents and young adults will be diagnosed with serious mental illness. The majority of these families struggle to get care. Flourish (**https://flourish.health/**) is here to ensure that everybody gets the same access we have.
About the Role
We are looking for a mental health professional who has built clinical programs for startups. In particular, a startup leader that has built a coaching model. Flourish’s model is an integrated team of four people — a psychiatrist, a therapist, a parent coach and an adolescent coach — who work together to deliver an integrated, wraparound program.
The right person can develop the vision for clinical model programming across the end-to-end patient experience. This is vital for standardizing high quality care at scale. You have experience rolling up your sleeves, building, re-evaluating, and iterating. You orient toward creative problem solving and excellent communication skills. You can think at a high level in terms of clinical strategy and own responsibility for multiple different program development initiatives that build off of what has already been created.
These include:
- Our clinical model for coaches to do in person visits with adolescents and their families
- Overseeing your team in further developing our treatment manual that therapists follow and coaches reinforce
- Developing the parenting classes that parent coaches deliver and therapists reinforce
- Clinical Supervisor Handbook
Responsibilities
- Program development: conceptualize, plan, and execute clinical programming following the strategic vision set by VP of Program Development
- Implementation: support training and adherence for new programming initiatives
- Stakeholder engagement: collaborate with teammates and cross-functional stakeholders, including clinical care team members, to gather feedback and build consensus
- Quality improvement: monitor adherence and clinical outcomes, identify areas for enhancement, and create iterations
- Change management: support organizational change initiatives related to clinical program development, including workflow redesign, technology product integration and cultural transformation
- Education and training: develop educational curriculum and materials to support clinical team members in enhancing patient care services
- Direct patient care: join a carepod and serve as the therapist for a patient panel of 2 patients, providing direct patient care and gaining direct experience with the clinical programming that you lead the development for (this is required and in line with Flourish’s leadership philosophy that all clinical leaders participate in on-the-ground work)
Role requirements/ preferences
- Professional with 10+ years of clinical programming and startup experience, including:
- 10+ years experience in program development creating “zero to one”
- 10+ years of people management experience
- You can point to a coaching model you developed at another startup
- Highly collaborative with a deep sense of ownership and accountability; no job too big or too small mindset
- Embodies a growth mindset, is comfortable building things that are changed or iterated on, provides feedback compassionately and receives feedback mindfully
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful clinical programs, with clinical outcomes and clinician adherence
- Ability to reimagine “how things have always been done” - and then communicate and the value proposition and build consensus amongst entrenched interests
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Commitment to patient safety and delivering high-quality care
